2012 Edition
You were invited to participate in a first presentation of a new concept: A Concert-competition, with the Orchestre Lamoureux, conducted by Philippe Hui, at the Salle Gaveau on the 13th January 2012 at 19.30.
This first Concert-competition was organised in partnership with Radio Classique.
What is a Concert-competition? Firstly, it is a concert bringing together 9 top-class Opera singers, selected by our Artistic Committee. All are finalists in one of the great international competitions. We insist that this event is considered firstly as a concert in order to put the singers in the best possible conditions for their art. The idea of a “competition” will add an important tension. In fact, a prestigious Jury will award the prize of the “Paris Opera Competition” and will propose possible engagements in the Theatres they direct. The “public prize” awarded by the audience will add to the enthusiasm and tension.
